I was born in the great state of Texas, but I have spent the largest portion of my life in Duncan, OK. I graduated from Empire in 1981, and journeyed to the beautiful state of Missouri to attend college. I graduated from Evangel University with a Bachelor's in English and journalism in 1986. Later, I completed a Master's in Behavioral Science from Cameron University in 2006.
Growing up in Oklahoma has given me a rich heritage of faith, family, hardwork, and dreams. I married my best friend 27 years ago, and we have 3 amazing kids. Caleb is 25 and a career soldier in the U.S. Army. Megan and Kathryn, the illustrious twins, are 24. Megan is a student at Cameron University if she is not studying abroad. I spent my college years attending school from September to May, and living overseas during the summers May through August: 1981 in Tahiti, 1982 in France, 1983 in Jamacia, and 1984 I spent in Montana/Idaho working with troubled teens. I love to read. I have a passion for all styles of music. I love being with my husband, kids, and grandbabies. I enjoy board games, cards, and dancing. My family is close, and we do the yearly family vacations aside from deployment phases awarded of my son and my son-in-law. I love cooking for get-togethers, and hanging with friends as well.
I love English. I love the challenge of helping young people understand the power of words, sentences, paragraphs, and chapters. We have power in our ability to speak, write, read, learn, understand and create. I love young people because they are the future.
