Sherrie Smith

I was born in Satanta, Kansas but was raised in Bray, Oklahoma all my life. I graduated from Bray in 1977 and obtained my teaching degree from East Central University in 1981. I have been teaching computer classes for about 34 years and have seen many changes over the years. I love technology and the challenges that comes with it. I sometimes feel that I learn as much from my students as what they do from me because they bring in the latest little gadgets that are out on the market for me to see. I teach the high school computer subjects, sponsor the Student Council, am Technology Coordinator and I do the Sr. video every year for the graduating seniors.
I am married to Randy Smith and have been for 42 years. He teaches high school Math here at Velma-
Alma. We were at a small class B school called Calvin for 22 years. We decided to move back closer to home which is when we came to Velma. This is year number 20 for us at Velma. We have two childen, Amber and Tasha, three grandsons named Eli, Kaiden and Andrew.  We also have one granddaughter named Aubree. Eli and Andrew belong to our daughter, A mber and her husband, Brian Spradlin; they are both school teachers also. We also have another grandson and granddaughter, their names are Kaiden and Aubree.  They belong to our daughter, Tasha and her husband, Doug Gravitt.  My grandkids are the joy of my life.  I have been at Velma-Alma going on nineteen years of teaching and believe that this is a wonderful school with wonderful students.
